It is with great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of Michael Paul Longo on February 2, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Michael was the beloved husband of Margaret Longo, cherished father of Kelly and her husband David, Michelle and her husband Mario, Michael John and his wife Victoria, and proudest “Papa” to Courtney, Megan, Emma, Sydney, Michael, and Isabella.
Michael was born on April 9, 1943, in Toronto, Ontario. He met the love of his life, Margaret, at the age of 16, and together they built a life that spanned over 60 wonderful years. Michael was a Toronto Fire-Fighter for over 30 years, ending his career as District Chief. Although karate and boxing were his passions, his family was always his priority. Spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren brought him the greatest joy.
Michael leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories, he will forever be held dear in the hearts of his family.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 10, at 1:30pm in the Holy Cross Funeral Home Chapel. Since Michael loved a party, a drop in Celebration of Life will also be held at the Holy Cross Funeral Home from 2:30 to 4:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Society in Michael’s honor.
