Captain Ray “Ace” Costello – Jun 1933 – Dec 2020
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Captain Ray “Ace” Costello. Ray passed away in hospital as the result of an unexpected and sudden illness in his 87th year.
Ace was a very Proud Captain of The Toronto Fire Department. He joined on August 9th, 1957, was promoted to Captain April 23rd, 1984, and retired on August 26th,1990 after 33 years. His first assignment was 2 Aerial Tower, then at Portland Street on A1 (now 331 on A) and upon promotion Ace was the Captain of 12 Aerial A1 (now 324 on A). Ace was a proud member of the Toronto Fire Fighters’ War Veterans Association; he will be missed from the monthly meetings. He was also an avid golfer and will be missed by all of his “Golfing Buddies”.
Cremation has taken place in keeping with Ray’s wishes and there is no service information at this time. If any event details become available, we will post them as appropriate.
