Passing of Retired Captain Stanley Bator

May 2, 1940 – June 23, 2026 

Local 3888 Members,

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Stanley Bator on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at the age of 86, following a courageous battle with dementia. Stanley was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose life was defined by kindness, integrity, and selfless service to others. Born on May 2, 1940, he dedicated nearly 34 years of his life to the Toronto Fire Department, where he proudly served his community with courage and compassion. He retired with the rank of Captain, leaving behind a legacy of leadership, professionalism, and unwavering commitment.

Stanley was predeceased by his beloved wife, Janet Bator, and by his dear companions, Marilynn and Lonnie. He is lovingly remembered by his brothers, Joseph and Casimir. He also leaves behind his cherished children, Michael (Michele), Anne (Paul), and Jennifer (Troy), who were the pride and joy of his life. He will be forever loved by his grandchildren, Marshall, Michael, Daniel (Eryn), Taylor, Justin, and Jasmin, as well as by the Lawson children and grandchildren, all of whom held a special place in his heart.
