Firefighter Jim Filyer – 1931 ~ 2026

Peacefully, at Hastings Centennial Manor, Bancroft, on Monday, May 11, 2026. Jim Filyer, age 95 was the beloved husband for 47 years to Elizabeth (Sawyer) Filyer. Jim was a much-loved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Jim was a dedicated firefighter for over 30 years with The City of Etobicoke Fire Department. Jim joined the Etobicoke Fire Dept. on June 16, 1955, and retired November 11, 1985, after 30 years of service.

Cremation has taken place. As expressions of sympathy, donations to The War Amps of Canada would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to M.G. Daly Funeral Home, Maynooth.
