PC Alexander Morton Ritchie – June 29, 1935 – May 5, 2026
On May 5, 2026, Alex Ritchie passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by love. Alex was the devoted and cherished husband of Mary (née McLerie) Ritchie, with whom he shared a marriage for 72 years, filled with love, respect, and companionship. He will be deeply missed by his loving children, Valerie (Dan) and Lorraine (Kevin); his treasured grandchildren, Alison (Brian), Danny (Heidi), Heather (JJ), Kyle (Kate), and Ashley (Robbie); and his ten adored great-grandchildren, with another precious great-grandchild expected on May 16. He will also be fondly remembered by his dear sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Irene and Ron.

He proudly served in the Toronto Fire Services for 38 years, with the last 8 years as Platoon Chief, a role he fulfilled with dedication, strength, and a deep sense of duty. Known for his quick wit and steady leadership, Alex led by example, earning the respect and admiration of all who worked alongside him. Alex was a long serving member of the Toronto Fire Fighters War Veterans’ Association.

Memorial Service – Monday, May 11, 2026, at 12: 00p.m
