Funeral Information For Captain Paul McCullagh, Retired TFS – Former TFD (L-113)

Paul McCullagh – 24 Aug 1962 ~ 29 Mar 2026

A Funeral Mass will be held on May 7, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St. John’s Parish, 786 Kingston Road, Toronto, ON M4E 1R7. Following the mass, a reception to celebrate Paul’s life (and perhaps share a few of his favorite jokes) will be held at The Guild Inn Estate, 201 Guildwood Parkway, Scarborough, Ontario, M1E 1P5 from 12:30 PM to 4:00 PM.

The family would like to request a Full Dress Uniform for Firefighters attending.

Funeral Information For Captain Paul McCullagh, Retired TFS – Former TFD (L-113)

Paul McCullagh – 24 Aug 1962 ~ 29 Mar 2026

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Paul McCullagh announces his passing on March 29, 2026. Paul started with Fire Services in 1989, serving the citizens of Toronto for over 36 years, and had only recently retired in May 2025.

Throughout his career, he served predominantly in South Command on “B” Platoon and earned the rank of Captain in 2018. Captain McCullagh comes from a legacy of service to the Toronto Fire Service including his father, Thomas McCullagh, who died in the Line of Duty in 2001, brother, retired Acting Platoon Chief Peter McCullagh, Uncle, Captain Hugh (Val) Weir, who passed in 2017, first cousins Division Chief Marla Friebe, retired Captain Pierre Friebe and Captain Chris Weir and second cousin, Firefighter Benjamin Friebe. Predeceased by his Father Thomas, Mother Joan, and Brother Tom Jr. Survived by his Wife Rachael, Sons Liam and Morris, and Brother Peter, loved by many cousins, nephews, nieces, friends, and fellow Firefighters.

Funeral and Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. Rest in peace, Brother McCullagh.
