Captain Bruce James Titus – Mar 1942 – Mar 2026
On Sunday morning, March 15th, 2026, Bruce passed away peacefully at the Providence Villa palliative care unit in Scarborough, Ontario, at the age of 83. Bruce was born to Harold and Mabel Titus in 1942. He was raised in Toronto and attended local schools and high schools in his area.

Bruce joined the Toronto Fire Department in Oct. 1967 – Jun 1997. Bruce was very passionate about being a firefighter, which spanned over 30 years. He retired as a Captain. The joy in his voice when he spoke about his adventures on the job left you wanting to hear more and more about the life of a firefighter. His favorite quotes were “if you love your job, you never work a day in your life” and “knowledge is power”. Bruce took on a second career in 1986. He started working for Ontario Correctional Services as a Correctional Officer. He worked out of the Toronto Jail until they relocated to the Toronto South Detention Center in 2013.
