TORONTO FIRE DEPARTMENT LAST ALARM

Firefighter Donald James Warner – May 1933 – Jan 2026

Predeceased by his mother, Edna, and father, Leslie Donald “Poppa” Warner lived a life defined by courage, laughter, and deep devotion to his family. Beloved husband, lifelong companion, friend, and love of his life to Josephine, for 71 years, on September 18, 2025. He is survived by his brother, “Bud” Thompson. He is a proud father to June (Dave), Susie (Jimmy), and Donny (Bridgette), and family friend Marilyn. Grandfather to Cindy (Bernie), Holly, Sherri, Tom (Katie), and Austin (Jackie), for whom he is proud of all their accomplishments. His face lit up at the mention of his great-grandchildren, Robert, Ronan, and Quinn.

A Veteran of the Korean War serving with the P.P.C.L.I. Donald served his country with honour before dedicating 31 years to protecting his community as a Firefighter with the Toronto Fire Department. Don was a long-serving member of the Toronto Firefighters War Veterans Association.
