Funeral Information For Firefighter Walter Johnson, Retired TFS – Former NYFD (L-752)
Walter “Wally” Johnson – May 4th, 1954 – Jan 28th, 2026.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Retired Firefighter Walter Dale Johnson, at the age of 71, on January 28th, 2026. He leaves behind his wife, Karrie (Communications), sons, Michael (Ashley), Mark, Grandchildren, Curtis, and Violet. He will be greatly missed by his Family and Friends that knew him.

Wally served the City of Toronto Fire Services for 33 years, starting his career with the North York Fire Department in 1982. He was a respected firefighter by all who knew him, both on and off the job. He loved his job, being committed to public service. Wally lived his life by his own terms, ‘Wally’s Way’! His legacy will live on through his son’s, Michael and Mark, Grandchildren, and those lives he touched by just being Wally. A private Family Service has been held. A Celebration of Life will be held sometime this Spring, and details will be posted when available. Donations in Wally’s Honour can be made to Golden Retriever Rescue by donating online through Canada Helps or by sending an e-transfer to: https://goldenrescue.ca/donate/
Rest in Peace, Brother Johnson
Our Sincerest Condolences from all our Retiree Groups go out to the Family and Friends.
In Solidarity,
Retired Toronto Fire Fighters Association I.A.F.F. Local 3888
