Captain Wayne Paul Ramsay – 1935 ~ 2025

Beloved husband to Charla and papa to 2 precious pooches, Lucita and Thor. He passed suddenly on July 21, 2025, from cardiac arrest. He had retired to Evening Cove on Vancouver Island, where he built a lovely ocean front home. He spent a long and pleasant retirement at this special place. He also enjoyed 6 wonderful winter seasons in Arizona until 2017, when health issues prevented him from accessing travel health insurance, forcing him to sell his winter home.

Etobicoke Fire Crest

Wayne was a dedicated Etobicoke Firefighter, beginning his career on the 27th of April 1959 and retiring as a Captain on the 30th of November 1990, after 31 years of service. He suffered through countless health battles associated with his career in firefighting- always brave and optimistic. He carried on with a light heart and good humour, happy with his little family and beautiful surroundings. The day before his passing was spent helping his wife with grocery shopping and then having their usual “date lunch” at McD’s, taking home for the pooches their usual cheeseburgers with chips and gravy. He is missed beyond words by his little family.

Deepest condolences go out to his family and friends from all our Fire Fighter Retiree Groups.

In Solidarity,

Retired Toronto Fire Fighters Association TPFFA – L-3888
