Funeral Information LODD for Firefighter Joseph Paul Bonanno Retired TFS (Former YFD)

Joseph Paul Bonanno 11-Nov-1949 – 04-Jun-2025

It is with great sadness that the family of Joseph Paul Bonanno announces his passing at home in Mississauga, on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at the age of 75 years. He was born on November 11, 1949, in Mellieha, Malta. Joseph will be deeply missed by his wife, Elizabeth Bonanno. They shared 49 years of marriage. They were life partners and wonderful parents. Joseph will be fondly remembered by his three daughters, Victoria Bonanno (Michael Mucci), Lydia Bonanno (Dean Meloche), and Vanessa Bauer, nee Bonanno (Daniel Bauer). Joseph will be missed by his grandchildren, Miles and Max Mucci, Anneliese and Eleanor Bauer, who knew him as Grampy. Joseph loved pets of all kinds. He will be missed by Sky, Maggie, Echo, and Vanilla. He has been reunited with all of the cats that he took care of and loved.

Joseph was a Firefighter with Toronto Fire (formerly the City of York) for over 35 years. He worked for many years at Station 442 – Weston. He served the Weston community with great pride and passion. He was well-loved and respected by his colleagues. Joseph had many passions, hobbies, and interests beyond his career and was a very skilled handyman. He loved cats, reading, audiobooks, learning history, political thought, The Simpsons, music, airplanes, stamps, and much more.

A reception to follow the funeral at the church hall.

Interment will be done privately.

In memory of Joseph, the family has selected Pancreatic Cancer Canada and Pet Save Sudbury.

Visitation – 15-Jun-2025 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Lynett Funeral Home, 3299 Dundas St. West, Toronto ON M6P 2A5

Funeral Mass – 16-Jun-2025 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm St. Paul the Apostle Parish, 3224 Dundas St W., Toronto ON M6P 2A4
