Funeral Information for Captain Elgon Thomas, Retired L752 North York Fire

Elgon Thomas – 09 June 1943 – 11 March 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Elgon Thomas, beloved father, grandfather, and friend. He left us on March 11th after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 82 years old. Elgon was born in Gravenhurst, Ontario, on June 9th, 1942, where he met and married his late wife, Lynn, for over 30 years.

Elgon proudly served the community as a distinguished captain on the North York Fire Department. Throughout his life, Elgon exemplified strength, love, and resilience. As a father, he devoted himself to his children, offering them guidance, love, and unwavering support. Though his battle with cancer was long and difficult, Elgon faced each day with an extraordinary level of courage and grace. He continued to inspire his family and friends with his determination and resilience.

He is survived by his children Joel (Jennifer), Jena (Aleks), and grandchildren Blake, Cole, Kenzi, and Katie. His memory will live on in the hearts of his children, grandchildren, and all those who were touched by his kindness, humor, and strength. Elgon leaves behind a legacy of love, perseverance, and the importance of cherishing every moment. May he rest in peace. We love you and will miss you.
