Russel Inouye – 02 April 1933 – 10 January 2025

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Russel Akio Inouye on January 10, 2025, enveloped by the love and presence of his cherished family. A man of extraordinary character, Russel left a legacy of devotion, strength, and unwavering kindness that will resonate with all who were fortunate to know him. Russel proudly served as a firefighter and Captain with the North York Fire Department from 1969 to 1999.

In his 30-year career, he not only protected his community but also forged lifelong bonds, becoming a steadfast leader who inspired respect and camaraderie. Known as much for his culinary skills as his bravery, Russel was renowned for feeding his team with hearty, lovingly prepared meals—a reflection of his care for those around him. A true craftsman at heart, Russel’s skill in carpentry transformed raw wood into timeless masterpieces. His crowning achievement was the home he built with his own hands—a sanctuary of love and laughter for his family. His creativity extended to the kitchen, where his roast beef and Yorkshire pudding dinners became legendary family traditions, cooked with equal parts skill and love.
