In Memoriam Box 12 and Support 7 Member John Skillen

Our condolences to the family and friends of long-time Box 12 and Support 7 member John Skillen. Box 12 and Support 7 members make up an integral part of our fire family, supporting our members day or night, in all manners of weather with their hot beverages, warm trucks, and welcoming faces. Your loss is our loss.

John David Skillen passed away in Toronto on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, in his 91st year.

He joined the Toronto Professional Fire Fighter’s Association Box 12 in 1994 and was very active member for over two decades. Previously, he had been a member of Support 7 for over two decades. He was nominated by his peers to receive the Barry White award, which he was given in 2013, for outstanding and dedicated service to the Toronto Professional Fire Fighters Association for his work with Box 12.

The funeral will take place on Tuesday January 7, at the Jerrett Funeral Home 1141 St. Clair Ave W, Toronto.

Visitation will be at 10:00 am, Funeral at 11:00 am, followed by a reception and then interment at St. James Cemetery.
