Funeral Information For Active Member Firefighter Aidan Carr (P212 D)
Aiden Carr – Sept 25th, 1968 ~ Dec 25th, 2024
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dad Aidan, a loving father, cherished friend, and dedicated firefighter who passed away on December 25th, 2024.
Aidan was born in Co. Down, Northern Ireland. He moved to Canada in 1988 and worked as a skilled trim carpenter. He served with honor and dedication as a firefighter with the Toronto Fire Service for 21 years where he was known for his bravery and selflessness. Aidan’s wicked sense of humour and infectious laugh was iconic. Aidan is survived by his children, Siobhan (Spencer) and Liam, his separated wife, Maureen, as well as his siblings Kathleen, Michael (Ann), Antionette (Padraig), and Louis (Joanne). He was a cherished uncle, cousin, nephew, and friend to many in Canada, Ireland, England, and the USA. He is predeceased by his parents Aidan and Agnes and in-laws Hughie and Gerdie Doherty.
Brother Carr started with Toronto Fire Services on Nov 17th, 2003, and was assigned to B platoon for most of his career at 325 until he transferred to station 322 on October 24th, 2016. On April 19th, 2021, he transferred to Car 33, then moved to station 212 on D platoon. Visitation: Sunday, December 29th, 2024, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. and Monday, December 30th, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Paul O’Connor Funeral Home, 1939 Lawrence Ave East. Scarborough, ON M1R 2Y8
Funeral Mass: Tuesday, December 31st, 2024, at 10:00 am at St. John’s Parish – 786 Kingston Rd. Toronto, ON M4E 1R7
Interment: St. John’s Norway Cemetery & Crematorium – 256 Kingston Rd. Toronto, ON M4L 1S7
