Funeral Information For Captain James Bernard Dillon Retired TFS – Former TFD (L-113)
Jim Dillon – 18 November 1948 – 06 November 2024
Jim Dillon – beloved husband, dad, papa, friend, and colleague – passed away peacefully on November 6, 2024, at the age of 75 years. The only son of Peggy Coules and Jim Dillon was born on November 18, 1948, in Sudbury, Ontario. Jim married Donnette (nee Halls) on October 4, 1975, and they shared nearly 50 years together, building a life full of warmth, adventure, and many cherished memories. Jim was a proud and caring father to Dana, Luke (Trina), and Matthew (Rosaleen), and guided his children with wisdom and love. Jim was Papa to Olivia, Crayden, Victoria, Maxwell, and Henry. He was adored by his grandchildren who knew him as their biggest supporter – always ready with encouraging words, a hug, or a helping hand.
A dedicated firefighter for the City of Toronto for 30 years, and Captain of Fire Hall #311 (previously #24) on Balmoral Avenue, Jim’s enthusiasm and commitment were an inspiration to his colleagues and friends. Jim was a devoted family man and avid outdoorsman; he guided many back-country canoe trips and enjoyed sharing his love of the outdoors with family and friends. He was known for his determination, humor, wisdom, and compassion. Jim’s legacy leaves a profound impact on all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the family home, all family and friends are invited to come and share refreshments, stories, and time together to enjoy the farm Jim loved so much.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Salvation Army, or the Oak Ridges Hospice in Port Perry, Ontario. https://www.oakridgeshospice.com/
