Firefighter Paul Wayne Hill – 1938 – 2024
Paul Wayne Hill was born to Vernon and Irene Hill on April 12, 1938. He had an older brother, Vernon, and a younger sister, Mary. He grew up in the west end of the City of Toronto, where he would meet and later marry his high school sweetheart, Marylyn Aitkenhead. Together they had three children, Kim (Ernie Griffioen), Scott (Linda Wise), and Jeff. Paul became a firefighter for the City of Etobicoke, which he took great pleasure in for many years. Later, when the family moved to the Lindsay area where Paul had spent much of his youth cottaging on Sturgeon Lake, he and his wife, Marylyn, owned and operated a DJ service and a convenience store. Other interests included playing his trumpet with local bands and participating in many productions at the Lindsay Academy Theatre. Together with Marylyn, they also restarted the Scouting program in the village of Dunsford.

Paul was a very active grandfather to Michelle, Rob (late), and Darryl Griffioen; and a very proud great-grandfather to Jordyn (Michelle) and Josiah (Rob and Stephanie). Paul died peacefully, on the morning of October 18, 2024, with his beloved Marylyn, his wife of more than 64 years, by his side. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
