Funeral Information For Firefighter Ken Awender Retired TFS – Former NYFD (L-752)

Ken Awender – 22 May 1964 ~ 18 Sep 2024

Suddenly while travelling through Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, Ken Awender at 60 years of age. Loving husband of Anne Marie Awender (nee Stevenson). Cherished father of Madison (Adam). Beloved son of Frank Awender and the late Patricia Awender (nee Murray). Dear brother of Doug Awender (Lorie). Father-in-law Edward Gordon Stevenson and Mother-in-law Kendra Stevenson. Brother-in-law of Elaine Abram (Christopher) and chosen brother of John Jakab. He is also missed by extended family and numerous friends.

Ken started his career with the North York Fire Department on October 13th, 1995, and retired on July 31, 2022, after 26 years of service. Records show that Ken was assigned to P212.

Ken is in the care of The MacCoubrey Funeral Home Ltd. Cremation will take place.
