The passing of Retired Firefighter Delmer Fredrick Calvert
November 25th, 1947 ~ June 17th, 2024
We have been notified of the passing of former TFD firefighter Delmer Calvert, surrounded by family at home at the age of 77.
Firefighter Calvert started his career on July 3rd, 1972, and retired after 36 years on January 1st, 2008. He was a dedicated firefighter and spent most of his career at station 14 on A2 (345 C) and closed out his 36-year career on the fireboat and Island firehalls.

Passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on June 17th, 2024. Beloved husband to Debbie and cherished father to Leila, Matthew (Ashley), Marcus, Shannon (Nate) and Melony. Delmer will be deeply missed by his grandchildren Avia, Kessa, Rachael, Riley, Kobe, Brandon, and Adanna and great grandchildren Violet and James. Delmer is predeceased by his parents, Fredrick and Lavina Calvert, late wife Patricia Fawcett, and siblings Bethel and Glenna. Delmer will be missed by his nieces Lara and Ginger and nephew Cal along with his extended family and friends.
Arrangements have been entrusted to THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOME – LAKEFIELD CHAPEL. A private interment is to take place.
