Captain Burton “Bud” Wice – 1944 – 2024

With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to Bud Wice, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Bud passed away peacefully, after a long fight with Kidney Cancer and was grateful for the dialysis that kept him alive and well for the past 6 years. Bud passed on April 29th at the age of 80 years old at Andy’s House/Hospice Muskoka. Beloved husband to Joan whom he shared his life for the past 60 years, brother to Laura Fleming, and brother-in-law to Bill and Chantal Reid. His children, Kimberley (Jason) and Jeffery (Ellie) were the light of his life, and he took immense pride in their accomplishments. Grandfather to Lily Jane, Makenzie Ellen, and Quinlyn Grace, his extended family called him Uncle Bud, GG Bud touched the lives of Danielle, Andrew their kids along with all the nieces, and nephews who filled his heart with love.

Etobicoke Fire Crest

Bud began his career with The Etobicoke Fire Department on the 15th of August 1965 and Retired in 1995 after 30 years of dedicated service.

Celebration of Bud’s life Saturday, May 25th from 1 pm to 4 pm Royal Canadian Legion Branch 507 (Mactier), 11 Elizabeth St, MacTier, ON P0C 1H0

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Andy’s House (Hospice Muskoka) or the Kidney clinic at Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie ON in his honour.
