Calling all Brothers & Sisters!

The Annual Rob Penney Slow Pitch Tournament is back! This historic annual Toronto Fire event promises to be the fun-filled tournament you’ve heard endless stories about.

Rob Penney was a respected and loved member of our department who unfortunately lost his battle with cancer at a time when job-related Cancer was barely on the public radar. Thanks to his dear friend, District Chief Dave Pineau, the Rob Penney tournament was created to keep his name alive for his family, as well as to raise money for cancer research. Since 1989, over one million dollars has been raised for the Firefighter’s Cancer Research Fund at Princess Margaret Hospital.

Cancer has become too common a word on this job and this event is your opportunity to support a cause that unfortunately affects all of us. Your participation in this tournament directly supports research into work-related cancers. Come out and support a cause that will surely impact your life, if it hasn’t already.

We need your help to make this one of the most successful tournaments to date. Let’s continue the fight to conquer cancer in our lifetime.
