Alan William Black – 1933 ~ 2024

We have been notified of the passing of Retired District Chief Alan William Black on April 2nd, 2023, at the age of 91.

Alan started his career with the North York Fire Department on December 16th, 1957, and retired as a District Chief on June 30th, 1993, after 36 years of dedicated service.

Condolences to retired District Chief Black’s family, friends, and co-workers.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Alan William Black on April 2, 2024, in his 91st year. A devoted husband of Patricia Black, and a loving father, to Brian, Linda, and Greg. The most amazing grandfather grandkids could ever ask for. Al was a retired deputy chief of the North York Fire Department. He will be missed by many and will live on in those hearts he has touched.
