Ronald Mervyn Jamieson – 12-July-1933 – 30-Dec-2023

At Etobicoke General Hospital surrounded by his family on Saturday. December 30, 2023, at the age of 90. We share the sudden passing of our treasured patriarch affectionally known as Merv. Dad, Grandpa, Grumpa, and GP. Merv is now reunited for eternity with his beloved wife Joan (2022} of 67 years and his grandson Jordan (2020}. A dedicated father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Merv leaves a legacy of love and devotion. He is survived by his children Lynn (Tom} Bob, Bruce (Jacquie} and Brad (Lily). Merv will be fondly remembered as the proud grandfather of Steven (Nicole}. Jennifer (Andre}, Jenna (Keith}. Kayla (Rob), Jesse, Cassidy, and Zach, and as the adoring great-grandfather to Keaton. Michael. Thomas, Calleigh. William, Al ex. Ryder, and Emily (as long as they were quiet). He will be sadly missed by his brother-in-law Lennie and Sister-in-law Karen.

Merv lived a fulfilling life as a Toronto firefighter retiring at Hall 16 (425) Badge number 555 where he dedicated himself to the service of others. After an early retirement, he replaced his firehose and helped his son Bob at the Auto Repair shop where he often quit or got fired but always came back. A true testament to his strong work ethic and commitment to family. Well-known for his blue eyes, clean cars, short temper, and genuine love for his family. Merv touched the lives of many. His winters were spent and enjoyed in Florida for over 25 years, and summers were cherished at the family cottage in Washago, where generations of memories were made. Merv took pride in his close-knit family and was always there to cheer on those he loved. His legacy is one that emphasizes the importance of family. teaching us that together. we can continue to hold strong. Merv’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

May he rest in peace, surrounded by the love of his family and the memories they share. A private interment will take place at Glendale Memorial Gardens.
