Sadly, we have received notification of the passing of retired member Captain Brian Watters, father of, communications platoon 3 District Chief Glenn Watters and grandfather of communications firefighter platoon 4 firefighter Racheal Watters. Brother Watters passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Lakeridge Health Ajax at the age of 83 years old.
Captain Watters was a proud member of the Toronto Fire Department from February 1966 thru to July 1993 and retired after more than 27 years of service. He started his career on 17 (227) Aerial, then went to 7 (325) Pumper where he spent half of his career. He was promoted to Captain of 34 (131) Pumper where he remained until his retirement. Brian loved every minute on the job and whenever asked, said “It’s the best job in the world”. He was so very much loved and respected by his family and friends and will be missed by all.
Our condolences to Bother Glenn, Sister Racheal, as well as Brian’s family, friends, and co-workers.
