Captain Michael J. Iwasin – 06 Jun 1939 ~ 19 Jun 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Iwasin. He passed away comfortably in hospital surrounded by family; he was 84. Michael was predeceased by his son John and leaves behind his wife, Marlene (nee Toby) of 60 years, and his daughter Susanne. He had 2 Granddaughters, Jordyn and Sara, and a Great Grandson, Cameron.

Michael was a proud member of the Toronto Fire Department for 28 years where he rose to the position of Captain. Michael’s career began with the TFD on the 12th of July 1963. He was promoted to Captain on the 6th of June 1988 and retired on the 3rd of February 1991. Michael was assigned to several stations over his career, he enjoyed 32yrs in retirement.

Cremation has taken place. In keeping with Michael’s wishes, there will be no service.
