BENEFIT VERIFICATION SETTLEMENT

The Toronto Professional Fire Fighters Association and the City have resolved the Benefit Verification Grievance. Approximately 1100 active members and retirees were suspended, resulting in approximately 2500 spouses and children having their benefits retroactively turned off on February 1, 2023. For those impacted, the reinstatement of benefits will start immediately. Apparently, it is a time-consuming process and will take some time.
