Funeral Information For Captain Stephen Mark Stewart Retired TFS (Former L-1137 EFD)

Stephen Mark Stewart – 01 July 1952 – 05 January 2023

It is with much sadness that the Stewart family announces the peaceful passing of Stephen Stewart at Owen Sound Regional Hospital on 5 January 2023 after a short illness. He was predeceased by his father, Arnold W. Stewart. Stephen is survived by his loving mother, Dorothy Stewart, loving wife, Sherry McKinnon, stepdaughter Shannon, and grandchildren, Chloe, and Julian, who adored him. He will be greatly missed by his brother Tim (Donna) and their children Caitlyn (Doug) and Robert (Tanya).

Etobicoke Fire Crest

Records show, Stephen started with the Etobicoke Fire Service mechanical division on November 30, 1985, and retired from Toronto Fire Services on December 31, 2015, after 30 years of service. Retiring as a Captain of the Equipment Services Branch, responsible for ensuring all equipment, including hoses, oxygen masks, and the jaws of life, were tested and ready for service. The family would like to thank the First Responders in Southampton, the Emergency Department at Southampton hospital, and the staff in the ICU at Owen Sound Regional Hospital for the loving care they provided Stephen.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada in memory of Stephen.

Cremation has taken place.
