Funeral Information For DC Brian Balsdon – Retired TFS (Former Scarborough L626)
Brian Balsdon – 05 January 1947 – 29 November 2022
It’s with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Brian. He surrendered to his fight with Cancer and peacefully left his home on November 29, 2022. Beloved soul mate and husband to Kathy Balsdon (nee Kulcheski), Brian leaves an eternal print on her heart. He will be mourned and missed by his supportive children: Jeff Balsdon and wife Lori and Mandy Balsdon and husband Dave Roffey. Grandchildren Emma, Isabelle, and Dakota have Forever Memories. Kate Kulcheski and Sara Middleton (husband Eli and children Titus, Casey, and Alira) embraced Brian as their Dad and he taught them what true ‘Family’ means.
Brian was a Retired Toronto Fire Fighter and ended his 35-year career as a District Chief. Brian’s career began with the Scarborough Fire Department (#396) on the 17th of December 1973. He retired on the 12th of Dec 2005, as a District Chief with Toronto Fire Services, after amalgamation.
Brian was a Marine Mechanic, a pilot, and a talented wood Craftsman. Friends and family proudly share and display his creations to celebrate his talents. As per his wishes, Brian will be cremated and have a Celebration of Life in the Spring. ‘Special Thanks’ to his many wonderful friends (Ross, Peter, Tim, etc.) who were so helpful and supportive. Also, we recognize the Peterborough health team who cared for him and his family with such compassion.
Any future events will be posted upon release.
