adminFuneral Notice

Brothers and Sisters;

Tragically on Monday, January 24th, 2022, we lost three of our IAFF Brothers\Sister when they became trapped in a building collapse.

Baltimore firefighters Lt. Paul Butrim, Firefighter/Paramedic Kelsey Sadler, and EMT/Firefighter Kenny Lacayo.

A combined ceremony will be held on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at 10:00 am.

Additional information and live streaming of the ceremony can be found here.

Your C&B committee and Executive Board struggled with the decision of sending representation to Baltimore to honour the fallen. Due to Covid-19 testing and the unknown issues that can arise with traveling to the USA and back, the decision was made to not travel. Instead, we will donate the Baltimore Union’s GoFundMe account for the families of the fallen.

Your Association will be making a donation equivalent to what it would have cost to send our representatives.

We also encourage our members to donate.

The following was copied from the GoFundMe account which can be found here.

Baltimore Fire Fighters Local 734 and Baltimore City Fire Officers Local 964 are raising money to benefit the families of our fallen brothers and sister; they died and were injured while battling a dwelling fire on January 24, 2022. Sister FF/PM Kelsey Sadler and Brothers Lieutenant Paul Butrim, and FF/PM Kenny Lacayo died; FF/EMT John McMaster has been suffering from injuries. 100% of the money raised through this GoFundMe will go to the families to offset funeral/memorial, medical, and other expenses resulting from this tragic event. Please help us reach our goal to raise $300,000.00 by February 4, 2022.”
