It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George Beck, on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at the Joseph Brant Hospital at the age of 98. George rejoins his wife Della. Loving father of Robert (Pat). Proud Papa of Matthew, James (Alyssa), and Adam (Rebecca).
He was a retired District Chief with 37 years with the Toronto Fire Department. George Joined the Toronto Fire Department on the 10th of June 1946, was promoted Captain on the 23rd of Nov 1962, and finally DC on the 30th of Sep 1971. He retired in 1983.
Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice in memory of George. George was a veteran of World War II, flying as a member of 431 Squadron. George was a tail gunner on the Lancaster and flew across Germany on many missions. He was a proud member of the Toronto Firefighters War Veterans Association and will be missed!
