Captain Gordon McCarrell – 1927 – 2021

Gordon McCarrell passed away Sunday May 9th, 11:15am at Donwood Manor Personal Care Home with his wife Anne at his side. Gord just turned 94 on March 5th. They would have celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary on June 30th. Sadly, Anne passed away 8 days after her husband on the 17th of May 2021.

Because of Covid, there will not be a service, Gord will be cremated.

Gord joined the Toronto Fire Department as a temporary on the 28th of June 1944 and became permanent on the 8th of March 1946. Gord was promoted to Captain on the 13th of January 1967 and retired on the 1st of October 1971 after 27 years. Gord and his family lived in Winnipeg.
