Captain Larry Niece – Apr 1947 – Apr 2021

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Captain Larry Harold Niece at the age of 74. Captain Niece started with Toronto Fire on January 11, 1988, at the age of 41 years old and joined the Fire Prevention Team with the old city of Toronto. “Boo Boo” as he was nicknamed in the fire academy, his counterpart Yogi who will remain nameless, made it a memorable time at the academy. Captain Niece retired after 25 years of service on January 31, 2013, leaving us with many stories for us to remember him with. He was proud to be a Captain with Toronto Fire Services for over 25 years and acted as “Sparky” in Toronto schools to teach fire awareness.

Larry was a gentle soul who was an avid devotee to his antique car collection and the biggest Batman fan. May he find peace in the arms of the Black knight. The ceremony which will be live-streamed will be held at McDougall & Brown Funeral Home on Monday, May 3, 2021, at about 1 pm. Follow this link.
