Captain Roderick “Jimmy” McGrath – Feb 1947 – Jan 2021.

Jimmy passed away on January 15th, 2021. He was hired by the Toronto Fire Department on December 3, 1971, and had many apparatus assignments throughout his career. Jim was promoted to Captain on April 29th, 1991, and retired as a Captain at 445 A-platoon, on May 31, 2003, after a 31-year career. Captain McGrath was the younger brother of Patrick McGrath, from the Fireboat (now Station 335) who passed away just before this past Christmas.

Jim was an avid curler who represented Ontario at the 1981 Briar as the team lead and also was named on the all-star team that year. He was also named on the 1978 and 1979 CFFCA all-star teams.
