Captain John J. Fogarty – Jul 1941 – Dec 2020

FOGARTY, John James – Passed away Monday, December 14, 2020 at Michael Garron Hospital at the age of 79.

Retired Captain of Toronto Fire Department. John joined on June 18th, 1965, was promoted to Captain April 8th, 1991, and retired on June 18th 1997 after 32 years. Spouse of Marie Melville (Mel). Brother of Marg Swain (Frank) and Doreen Fyfe (the late Patrick). Predeceased by parents John and Marg Fogarty. Fondly remembered by 12 nieces and nephews and 16 great nephews and nieces. Best friend of his faithful companion Tanner.

Lifelong member of Balmy Beach Club. Played rugby for B.B.C. and was an avid skier. Many thanks to the exceptional staff at MGH G5 Wing. John’s wishes to have a celebration of life at the Balmy Beach Club at a much later date. He will be dearly missed by all that knew him.
