William Stanfield – 1924 – 2020

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of William “Bill” Stanfield, Retired Captain of the former North York Fire Dept, on May 13th, 2020. Bill Stanfield age 96yrs, had 33yrs service and was retired for 35yrs.

Bill was one of our few remaining World War II Veterans, and a survivor of the D-Day Landings on Juno Beach. He served with the Royal Regiment of Canada. Bill was an active member of both the North York Retired Firefighters Association, and the Toronto Firefighters War Veterans Association. He will be sorely missed by both.
