It is with sadness that we announce the passing of David Atwell, retired District Chief of the Toronto Fire Services and Etobicoke Fire Department for 34 years.

With heavy hearts we announce that, after a brief illness, Dave passed peacefully on November 8, 2019 surrounded by loved ones. Son of the late Ronald & Phyllis Atwell of Annapolis Royal, NS. Revered father of Jason (Tricia) Atwell, Kari (John) Cunningham, and step-daughter Laura Gisonni. Adored Papa of Ciara & Bradán. Beloved husband of Frances (née Drennan) and Sharon O’Neil, both deceased. Cherished partner of Nancy Gibson. Brother of John, Judy (Ed), and Lynn. Uncle to many. Friend to all. His infectious smile and warm, generous spirit will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

Visitation will be held at the Turner and Porter Peel Chapter (2180 Hurontario St. Mississauga) on Wednesday, November 13 from 7-9 pm and Thursday, November 14 from 9:30-11 am, with a memorial service at the funeral home directly following at 11 am.
