Volunteer Drivers needed

Subject: Daily Bread Food Bank Volunteer Drivers Needed

Saturday, December 5, 2020

The holiday season is here and the Daily Bread Food Bank is busier than usual and in need of volunteer drivers for food delivery and/or pick-ups around Toronto.

Beginning the week of Dec 7th, they are in need of two drivers per day on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays for the rest of the month.

Volunteers will drive a G-class vehicle (Ryder rental) to do the food deliveries and/or pick-ups and will report to the Daily Bread Food Bank, 191 New Toronto St, Etobicoke, M8V2E7. Volunteer shifts start at 8 am. You can bring a helper to assist you, ideally someone from your household due to COVID precautions.

Dress: Civilian clothing, safety shoes. Cloth/95 Mask. Work gloves suggested. Of course, full COVID precautions are expected while volunteering – mask on at all times around others and while at delivery/pickup locations.

To all our members who’ve been volunteering regularly throughout the year, the Daily Bread Food Bank sincerely appreciates your goodwill and service to the community.

If available, please contact Sarfaraz Khan at the Daily Bread Food Bank to confirm dates/times at SKhan@dailybread.ca // 416.721.1039. Please let him know you’re with Toronto Fire. He can explain more about what’s required if you have any further questions.

Lastly, please send us a photo or two of yourself volunteering that we might be able to share to show the good work we do in our communities while off-duty. (Please send photos to mediapr@torontofirefighters.org)

Thanks in advance to all stepping up to assist. Happy holidays to you and yours.
